Nick Canada currently teaches for American Studies, Film Studies, and the Department of English at UNC-Charlotte. His dissertation focused on a film and production studies approach to popular television wrestling from the early 1980s to the early 1990s. Current courses offered focus on the relationship between culture, media, and ideology. His forthcoming publications examine the ideological implications of cinematography and editing in popular American wrestling, as well as the production and exploitation of content in the digital age. His current research project examines the discourse on American martial arts through media before, during, and after the Reagan years.
