Dr. West Literary Legacy Grows!

Congratulations to Dr. West on the publication of his 25th book! It’s an edited collection titled Once Upon a Toy:  Essays on the Interplay Between Stories and Playthings. UNC Charlotte’s English Department is well represented in the book.  In addition to Dr. West’s essay on “The Winnie-the-Pooh Toys and Their Immigration to America,” the collection includes two other essays by Dr. Paula Connolly and Dr. Maya Socolovsky.  Paula’s essay is titled “From Luxo to Lou: Toys in Pixar Shorts and the Search for Meaning,” and Maya’s essay is titled The Edge of Play: Belonging and Borderlands in Juan Felipe Herrera’s Picture Book Super Cilantro Girl/La Superniña del Cilantro.”   For more information about Once Upon a Time, please click on the following link:  https://mcfarlandbooks.com/product/once-upon-a-toy/
