Professor Mark West publishes new book
Professor Mark West’s book Liminal Spaces in Children’s and Young Adult Literature: Stories from the In Between was recently published by Rowman & Littlefield. The edited collection brings together fifteen original essays from various scholars that explore the role of liminal spaces in children’s and young adult literature. One contributor is Professor Paula T. Connolly, a children’s literature scholar in the English Department; another is Professor Sarah Minslow, a former member of the English Department, now at California State University, Los Angeles. A reviewer of West’s book describes it as “a lively and diverse set of meditations on liminality in and around children’s literature,” noting that the book’s contributors “show how literature makes the most of liminality’s affordances, enlarging our options for thinking, learning, and living.” For more information, see here.
