Elizabeth Gargano’s Novel is Published
Elizabeth Gargano, an accomplished poet and Victorian scholar, has just published her first novel, Cassandra’s Eye with Belle Lutte Press. The title of the novel refers to an art gallery which has been a driving force in the life of the protagonist, Shanti Costello. Now, as she nears the age when her own mother became an artist’s wife, Shanti must choose between the bohemian dogma of her upbringing, the conservative safety of her aunt, or her own type of freedom in the world beyond “The Eye.” Reviewer Susan Waggoner notes that the book “is sparing and skillful, driven by Shanti’s compelling voice. The eventual fallout from her parents’ heedless behavior triggers dramatic events that lead to painful realities, though they give Shanti the breathing space she needs.” Congratulations to Beth on this wonderful publication.
