Allison Hutchcraft’s new book of Poetry
Congratulations to Allison Hutchcraft on her wonderful new book of poetry, Swale. The poems, writes Marianne Boruch, “are about human time and love and loss through brilliant observations about the natural world.” Her poems bring together images from the natural world, some living some extinct, as well as remarkable seascapes and landscapes that turn our thoughts first toward the external and then, powerfully, into our own imagination and thoughts. Hutchcraft is a remarkable teacher who is admired by every student who studies with her. Reading the poem in Swale makes it easy to understand why. Her work captures a level of engagement and empathy that is both unique and compelling. To listen to Allison read the title poem, “Swale,” click here.
